Anet CNC

A picture of the 8Bit adder PCB.

After two revisions and a few fixes, this project finally worked! 🎉 I set out to build the simplest calculator possible using only discrete transistors to better understand digital logic at the most basic level. Starting with single-transistor logic gates on a breadboard, I eventually built a full adder. After some research, I found a NOR-only design that cut the transistor count in half, making the circuit much simpler and more reliable. This time, I simulated everything before ordering the PCB.

The stunning PCBs for this project were generously sponsored by PCBWay. The quality is top-notch, with excellent tolerances and a smooth finish—perfect for a showpiece like this! This was my first order with them, and the process was seamless.
